OCC (Oxford Cycling Club) is a new road cycling club based in the city of Oxford:
- We are passionate about our cycling
- We value a friendly and fun club atmosphere
- We like to challenge ourselves on the bike
- We enjoy responsible group rides
While pursuing challenging and lively rides together, group safety comes first. We have a members Code of Conduct and identity cards with medical information. We take looking after ‘our ride’ seriously. Communication is important – we know who is on our rides and no one is dropped without consent. The bottom line is that we want to enjoy our rides and have some fun!
Supporting Sobell House is how we contribute to the Oxford community. We are proud of our relationship and the support we provide. A proportion of all Club takings go to Sobell House.
Our weekly club ride starts from the Society Cafe on St Michael’s Street in the centre of Oxford and for our post-ride refreshments we have established a great relationship with Home on the Abingdon Road, where we always receive a friendly welcome, even when caked in mud. Barista-made coffee, a selection of cakes and the occasional pint after a hot summer ride, plus that all important safe and secure bike storage – it is the perfect place to enjoy some post-ride chit-chat!
We are a well-organised Club with membership benefits. We are affiliated to British Cycling. The Club is run by a small Committee of elected club members who are dedicated to ensuring a welcoming and positive culture.
