Recurring Event (See all)
Saturday 19th August
The OCC club ride starts promptly at 9am from outside Ubyk on the Abingdon Road.
OCC’s resident route maestro, Johnny Morrison, has devised a 66 mile route, aptly named Spaghetti Western, which makes the most of the blustery westerly winds that are forecast, ensuring a fast run back towards home! We should escape any rain showers, but be prepared for cooler temperatures – stash away a gilet in your back pocket at the very least!
Johnny, who will be sharing ride leading duties with Mark Howard, has pitched this as a medium pace ride, so expect an overall average of around 18mph mark. Depending on numbers, there may be an option for a faster ride too, but that call will be taken before we depart from Ubyk. We should arrive back in Oxford somewhere around 12.30-1pm.
If you are joining an OCC club run for the first time, ensure you bring enough fuel and water to sustain you as we do not stop at a cafe on our club rides. Tomorrow we will be heading back to ‘home‘ on the Abingdon Road. We also ask that you have a look at our ‘How We Ride’ page, which lists our calls, signals and how we like to ride as a bunch.
Finally, please also note that the wearing of a helmet is mandatory and we ask anyone joining us to leave their ICE details on arrival. Wear or bring clothing necessary for the likely conditions and please ensure your bike is road worthy!
