Sunday 27th October 2019
A change of plan for our club ride this weekend. Due to the miserable weather forecast for Saturday, not to mention the small matter of England playing the mighty All Blacks in the World Cup semi-final, we have taken the unprecedented decision to stall the club ride until Sunday morning. Same time as usual – 9am – and as Bike Zone is closed on Sunday, we will rendezvous at the AMT kiosk on Cornmarket.
The route can be viewed and downloaded from STRAVA. In a further deviation from the norm, we will be stopping at Sherborne Village Cafe, roughly at the halfway point, for some mid-ride refreshments!
Expect an overall average speed somewhere around the 18+mph mark for our medium ride and 19+ mph for our medium-fast group, so ideally suited to cyclists with a good level of fitness and endurance. Experience of riding in a group is not necessary – you’ll be looked after.
Non-members are welcome to come along, but if you have not ridden with OCC before, we ask that you have a look at our How We Ride page in advance, which lists our calls, signals and how we like to ride as a bunch. We don’t stop at a café on our rides, so please bring enough fuel and water to sustain you!
Please also note that the wearing of a helmet is mandatory and we ask anyone joining us for the first time to provide their ICE details and wear/bring clothing necessary for the likely conditions, inner tubes and please ensure your bike is road worthy!
