Quick shout out to our members – if you want a pair of gloves in club colours (see post in OCC Facebook group) please let Dave know ASAP, stating the size required, so we can place the order this week. We will not be ordering any stock.
Back to this week’s club ride, which starts at 9am from outside Bike Zone on St Michael’s Street in the historic centre of Oxford. Please arrive in good time for a prompt start. The ride will end at Home on the Abingdon Road, where we can enjoy some post-ride chatter and ‘liquid refreshments’.
The weather is looking sunny and warm, light northerly winds, so expect an overall average speed somewhere around the 18+mph mark for our medium ride and 19+ mph for our medium-fast group, so ideally suited to cyclists with a good level of fitness and endurance. Experience of riding in a group is not necessary – you’ll be looked after.
Mike Lowndes will be taking charge this week as we head north towards Hook Norton, skirting around the eastern fringes of the Cotswolds and back via Stonesfield and Eynsham. Full details are now available on STRAVA.
Non-members are welcome to come along, but if you have not ridden with OCC before, we ask that you have a look at our How We Ride page in advance, which lists our calls, signals and how we like to ride as a bunch. We don’t stop at a café on our rides, so please bring enough fuel and water to sustain you!
Please also note that the wearing of a helmet is mandatory and we ask anyone joining us for the first time to provide their ICE details and wear/bring clothing necessary for the likely conditions, inner tubes and please ensure your bike is road worthy!
