Saturday 13th July 2019 – Webby’s Full English Sobell Fundraiser!
It’s a change from the norm this Saturday. As usual, the OCC club ride will start at 9am from outside Bike Zone on St Michael’s Street in the historic centre of Oxford, but instead of heading back to our usual post-ride stop at Home on the Abingdon Road, the ride will finish on the Woodstock Road for a full English breakfast (and maybe the odd cold beer or two), courtesy of Club Chair, Andrew Webb.
PLEASE let us know if you are coming (via Facebook or drop a comment below) and please bring £10 to cover costs. A proportion of all proceeds will go to Sobell House.
We’ll have two rides on offer, a medium and medium-fast pace and full route details are now available on STRAVA. Expect an overall average speed somewhere around the 18+mph mark for our medium ride and 19+ mph for our medium-fast group, so ideally suited to cyclists with a good level of fitness and endurance. Experience of riding in a group is not necessary – you’ll be looked after.
Non-members are welcome to come along, but if you have not ridden with OCC before, we ask that you have a look at our How We Ride page in advance, which lists our calls, signals and how we like to ride as a bunch. We don’t stop at a café on our rides, so please bring enough fuel and water to sustain you!
Please also note that the wearing of a helmet is mandatory and we ask anyone joining us for the first time to provide their ICE details and wear/bring clothing necessary for the likely conditions, inner tubes and please ensure your bike is road worthy!
