Saturday 1st August 2020
As we emerge out of lockdown, we are beginning to introduce measures that will offer some semblance of normality and allow OCC members and non-members alike the opportunity to link up for a weekly club ride, whilst observing government guidelines on social distancing.
We will be publishing a suggested route to ride each Saturday, incorporating a café stop roughly midway. Non-members are very welcome to join us, especially those who have caught the road cycling bug during lockdown and would like to get a taste of riding with a club. We can pair you up with one of our members, so you have company and can learn a little more about OCC.
The ride will start at 9am from outside Bike Zone (NB: closed on Saturdays until further notice), but you can grab a coffee from the Handlebar Café. This Saturday we will be heading west, with a coffee stop at The Tea Chest in Lechlade. The route is now available to view and download on STRAVA.
You can chose to ride solo or in a pair. (For the time being, the club has decided not to ride in socially-distanced groups of six, as suggested by British Cycling). Alternatively, you can aim to rendezvous at the café stop.
Our normal club rules apply, so please note that the wearing of a helmet is mandatory and we ask anyone joining us for the first time to provide their ICE details and wear/bring clothing necessary for the likely conditions, inner tubes and please ensure your bike is road worthy!
