Saturday 8th August 2020
We are beginning to introduce measures that will offer some semblance of normality and allow OCC members and non-members alike the opportunity to link up and ride, whilst observing social distancing.
We now incorporate a café stop roughly midway, as we do not gather in large numbers at the end of rides.
This week we have a shorter ride due to the heat. There will be a cafe/water stop at The Old Shed near Charlbury. Download the route from Strava. Please bring 2 full water bottles.
We start at 9am from outside Bike Zone (NB: closed on Saturdays until further notice), but you can grab a coffee from the Handlebar Café.
You can chose to ride solo or in a pair. (For the time being, the club has decided not to ride in socially-distanced groups of six, as suggested by British Cycling). Alternatively, you can aim to rendezvous at the café stop. Non-members are very welcome to join us, especially those who have caught the road cycling bug during lockdown and would like to get a taste of riding with a club. We can pair you up with one of our members, so you have company and can learn a little more about OCC.
Our normal club rules apply, so please note that the wearing of a helmet is mandatory and we ask anyone joining us for the first time to provide their ICE details and wear/bring clothing necessary for the likely conditions, inner tubes and please ensure your bike is road worthy!
