All back home . . . to home!

In recent weeks OCC club rides have been heading back to home on the Abingdon Road for post ride refreshments and chatter!

Back in July, we approached the owners, Tamara, Noel and Perrie, about ending our rides at their café/restaurant/pub and they were more than happy to accommodate us. It’s another exciting development for OCC and feedback from everyone so far has been wonderfully positive!

Opened in Easter this year, their primary objective was “to create a ‘home from home experience’, a place where guests feel relaxed and taken care of” and OCC members and riders joining us for our club and social runs have been enjoying their special blend of welcoming hospitality and efficient, friendly service.

home  ticks a lot of boxes for us road cyclists: fresh, locally roasted coffee; handmade cakes and pastries; very secure bike storage in the rear, walled garden and, on warmer days, a few of our number have been seduced by the selection of beers and lagers, some of which are sourced from local craft breweries. And let’s not forget the ‘best toasties in town’ – perfect post-ride fodder for anyone who arrives back having exhausted their supply of energy gels!

But don’t confine your visit just to Saturday though – home also offers a fantastic lunch and dinner menu, using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. The Oxford Times recently published a glowing review and one just has to check out their listing on TripAdvisor to see that there is a lot more to home than coffee and cake!

Sitting on the Abingdon Road, opposite Oxford Spires Hotel, home is open from Tuesday to Friday 9am-10.30pm and 10am-10.30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Visit the home website for more information and follow them on Facebook to get up to date information on their ever-changing menus and developments!
